This holiday season, TACC went above and beyond to support 300 families in need, continuing our long-standing partnership with the Ngong Road Children’s Foundation (NRCF).
As part of Customer Service Week in October, we ran an in-store CSR initiative aligned with the theme ‘Above and Beyond’. Customers received a token with each purchase and chose between two charities. The charity with the most tokens by the end of the week would receive a donation.
NRCF, a non-profit supporting children in the Dagoretti slums, was the winning charity, and TACC was proud to continue supporting their mission.
With over 300 active students and 200 alumni, NRCF is committed to empowering children in Nairobi who are living in poverty. Through education and comprehensive support, they help these children transform their futures, opening doors to opportunities and sustainable employment. The program focuses on 4 key areas:
- Education: NRCF identifies students with exceptional academic potential and provides comprehensive support, including school fees, uniforms, shoes, books, supplies, and other essential resources to help them succeed.
- Health and well-being: NRCF ensures students receive nutritious meals, offering breakfast and lunch on school days, Saturday lunches, meals during school holidays, and family food aid. In addition, they provide essential health services, including basic healthcare, sexual and reproductive health education, mental health awareness, and drug and substance abuse prevention.
- Supportive community: NRCF offers caseworker support, a Saturday child development program, access to a lending library, a computer lab, and an annual camp experience for each child.
- Employment program: NRCF provides career development, job readiness training, tech skills development, entrepreneurship programs, and sales training to enhance employment opportunities for students.
TACC are grateful to have had this wonderful opportunity to help the community, and will continue to develop more CSR initiatives that allow us to give back. Learn more about how you can support NRCF and help empower children in Nairobi by visiting their website.
