Make sure there are plenty of sofas and armchairs to relax on and unwind. Don’t forget: where there’s a seat, there should be a surface to place your drinks and food – a coffee table or a side table is key for those that take the party to the living room.

Hosting doesn’t always mean parties or gatherings – it’s normal for family and friends to travel far and wide to spend time with their loved ones during this festive period and stay a few days or even weeks.
